Here at Springfield Mills, our new £4 million commercial development has now been completed and was officially opened on 24th February. The Bostock Building, features eight high-quality hybrid commercial units across two floors, offering modern workshop and office accommodation, and the exciting new development, the first of its kind here on site for 70 years, was opened by Christine Bostock, the widow of former MD and Chairman John Bostock after whom the building is named.
Over 50 people came along to the ribbon cutting ceremony, including the Bostock Family, the Gaunts Team, Board Directors and Shareholders, representatives from OGL Construction who have built the development, as well as Architects Bowman Riley, and Shelby Group (Project Management) and other companies involved in the project, alongside local councillors, business owners and tenants from the mill. Visitors got the chance to look around the new finished unit and find out about the development from all those involved, over afternoon tea.
Chris Pratt, who took over from John Bostock as MD in 2012, and is now a Board Director, has overseen the completion of the new development. Chris says, “It’s great to see this exciting new project come to fruition from its conception to completion and we’re really pleased with the result. The collaboration has worked well between ourselves and the Yorkshire-based companies we appointed; mainly OGL Construction, Shelby Group and Architects Bowman Riley, and we feel it meets the growing need for flexibility, light and space from expanding local and regional businesses.”
One of John’s three daughters, Ginny Lowndes, said “We are touched and delighted as a family that the company has decided to name the new development after my Father. I am still a member of the Board so I am personally also very proud that his name will continue through this exciting new venture as his legacy for all the brilliant work he did for the business and for the local community for the people he looked after.” Gaunts Managing Director Paul Curson said “Once the internal works are completed next month, they will be available to let and we are already receiving interest from a number of companies, so we would encourage those wanting more information about these high quality units, to contact us as soon as possible.
Any businesses interested in the units, should contact Gaunts on 0113 236 3555 or email [email protected].
